Constructed from stainless steel, thermal plastics and a rugged low speed motor; these systems are built to withstand the demands of severe aquatic environments.

  • Energy Efficient:
Low amperage systems mean less electrical consumption and low running costs.
  • Proven Performance:
Otterbine is the only manufacturer to have oxygen transfer and pumping rates independently tested and published on their aeration systems.
  • Versatile:
Available in both floating (Triton) and subsurface (Sub-Triton) configurations.
  • Corrosion Resistant:
Able to operate in brackish and effluent conditions.
  • Shallow Operating Depth:
Triton Aspirator operates in 3ft or 92cm, while Sub-Tritons require 2.5ft or 76cm of water depth.
  • Complete Package:
Includes unit, panel* and cable with cable quick disconnect for ease of installation.
  • Comprehensive Warranty:
All-inclusive 3-year warranty on unit, cable and power control center*.
  • Safety Listed & Protected:
Package electrically safety tested and listed with ETL, ETL-C. Products for European Union are also safety tested, approved and carry a 3rd party independent CE mark.

*Power control center is not a standard item on 50Hz packages.

  1. Rugged closed cell foam filled low visibility polyethylene float.
  2. Precision pitched stainless steel impeller is virtually unbreakable.
  3. Protective arms secure motor unit and allow for easy handling.
  4. Electrical disconnect is part of upper plate to prevent accidental damage.
  5. Adjustable brackets allow you to control the angle oxygen is released into the water column. (Sub-Triton models only)
  6. Enclosed in a corrosion resistant, durable 18 gauge/316 grade stainless steel motor housing, the oil-cooled, efficient 1725/1425 RPM custom built motor has dynamically balanced rotors to move high volumes of water.

Complete package is safety tested, approved and listed with ETL and ETL-C. Products for the European Union are also safety tested, approved and carry a 3rd party, independent CE mark.

Installation will be different between the Triton and Sub-Triton models but both will require the services of a certified electrician. Tools and materials required can include: a shovel (to bury/trench cable,) conduit, nylon rope, cinder blocks (when anchoring), boat (when anchoring,) rebar or duckbill anchors (when mooring). Depending on the configuration selected you will find complete installation instructions within the Aspirator Triton or Sub-Triton owner's manual which will be provided with the delivery of the product, and also found at the bottom of this page.

Basic Installation Guidelines

  • Unit Assembly: U.S.A. and Canada receive the unit assembled, while international shipments will receive the unit with float detached from motor unit. All systems will require that you measure and cut the venturi tube to length and attach to Aspirator so ball floats at surface, (see Sub-Triton Aspirator in Operation for example.) Minimal assembly is required for international shipments and all hardware is provided.
  • PCC Installation: Qualified electrician will need to be on-site to install power control center (PCC is standard for all domestic/60Hz applications.)
  • Power Cable:  Power cable should be buried or trenched in conduit per local codes, and run at least 3ft  or 1m out into the pond/basin.
  • (Triton Models) Mooring Unit in Water: Float unit into the water and moor it in to position with stainless steel cables or polypropylene rope. Due to the high pumping rates of this system a 3 point mooring method is required to keep unit in position, the arrow in the illustration represents the direction of water current. Floating units CANNOT be anchored. Mooring the unit can often be done from the shoreline.
  • (Sub-Triton Models) Mooring/Securing Unit in Water: Although mounted on the pond bottom Sub-Triton Aspirator models should be moored to secure placement, using a 3-point mooring system when placed in moving water, the arrows in the illustration represents the direction of water current. Adjustment to discharge angle should be done prior to placing unit in water a 9/16in or 14mm wrench or socket and medium Phillips head screwdriver will be needed.
  • Maximum Operating Depth for Sub-Triton Models by Horsepower:
    1HP = 12ft or 3.5m, 2HP = 21ft or 6.5m, 3HP = 24ft or 7.2m, 5HP = 28ft or 8.5m

Warranty

Industrial Aerators carry an inclusive 3 year warranty. This warranty extends to the complete package including the unit, cable and power control center.

Warranty can be performed by more than 100 factory trained and certified Otterbine Service Centers found worldwide, or by Otterbine directly. A copy of the warranty statement for this product can be found within the owner’s manual.

Maintenance:

Once a year: Disconnect the unit from the power source and physically inspect the aerator and underwater cable for any cuts, cracks or breaks as these may cause oil leaks or electrical shorts. Inspect and clean the pumping chamber components and screen.

After Every 3 Running Seasons: Perform a simple oil change. Otterbine oil must be used for this oil change for environmental and heat dissipation purposes. This can be purchased through Otterbine distribution.

Winterization:

If you live in a region that experiences cold winters and frozen waters you will want to run your system 24-hours per day to keep the unit from freezing in.
